At the age of 60, I decided to take on something new and started exploring the world of generative AI, which has been gaining popularity recently.
I happened to have an older model gaming PC and thought, "Maybe I can do something with this." So, without any prior knowledge, I jumped right in.
Unlike our student days, there are now countless ways to learn. With websites and YouTube videos shared by pioneers in generative AI, we truly live in a time blessed with learning resources.
After doing some research, I found a tool that seemed manageable for me: Stable Diffusion. Without understanding much at all, I searched online and managed to install it.
I had heard that you generate images by entering something called a “prompt,” so I started by writing out what kind of image I wanted in Japanese, then translated it into English using DeepL.
That’s how my journey with generative AI began.
On this website, I plan to share the images I’ve created with Stable Diffusion, along with the actual prompts I used. Although I’m still a beginner and have a lot to learn, I’d like to document my process little by little, including my failures. I hope this can be of some help to anyone just getting started with generative AI.
By the way, the PC I’m using is a bit underpowered for generative AI, equipped with a GTX 1060 graphics card. It takes time to generate even a single image, so I let it run overnight and check the results the next day before posting them on this site.
